Practice Profile

Gary McLuskey founded the practice co-lab architects in 2001 having gained valuable experience at the award winning practices of Rick Mather Architects, BDP and Softroom.

Over the years the practice has designed and built a number of unique and innovative projects in the private residential and commercial sectors throughout the UK.

In 2006 the practice won the best Off-site Solution Award at Interbuild for the co-Pod and had two projects shortlisted for the RIBA Housing Design Awards.

In 2007 the practice completed the UK's first mass manufacturable, affordable, sustainable house at the British Research Establishment for the Off-site 2007 Exhibition.

co-labarchitects recognise each project as unique and work hard to realise the potential of each site and aspirations of our clients. We draw inspiration from a wide range of sources to create intuitive urban design, architecture and interiors projects that stand up to logical analysis whilst recognising budget and programmatic constraints. The practice run a design degree unit at Chelsea College of Art and Design which enables it to further explore ideas and innovation within a design context.
