T-Mobile UK: Roll Out

T-Mobile International has started a roll out program for their shops in Austria, Czech Republic and Great Britain. The focus of the program is in Great Britain with a potential for as many as 400 shops being constructed.

Our first step with T-Mobile UK was to develop 4 Flagship Stores in London, to be completed and ready for the "T-Day"-Opening in April 2002. m2r-architecture was responsible for all phases of the projects from survey to practical completion..
With a team of 17 architects we have designed and planned more than 40 shops within a 5-month period all over Great Britain. 22 shops are due to be completed in the autumn of 2002.

The shops are designed to be open, bright and modern with a particularly customer friendly layout. Individual areas of the shops are arranged in order of services provided.
T-zones with large online walls are part of the design for customer interaction. New facades, staircases and balustrades are made of steel and structural glazing to guarantee a maximum of transparency.
The Corporate Identity and Corporate Design based on the German Telecom concept was developed further for T-Mobile International.

All furniture is part of one system providing a maximum of flexibility. It also guarantees efficient production, which is necessary in order to meet deadlines on fast track projects.

The back of house accommodates staff facilities and electronically controlled storage space integrated into the security system. The T-Mobile shop design has been developed for both refurbishment sites and for new stores both on the high street and in shopping centres. The budget for each store varies from £100,000 up to £ 250,000.
