This is a project for a new Canoeing Centre and Sports facilities commissioned by the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea. The new buildings occupy a site in Cremorne Gardens, a park on the north bank of the River Thames at World’s End that commands magnificent views across the water to Battersea. Our scheme, which is fully accessible to disabled canoers, comprises four lozenge-shaped structures clad in Cor-ten steel. Each one accommodates a different activity associated with the boating club - boat house, changing rooms, equipment stores, recreation room and offices. A fourth structure houses an indoor sports hall. The buildings hover above a new waterside landscape made of rocks and boulders.
