103 Copenhagen Street Project by Jake Ireland
whicharchitect assisted with arranging a site visit for students from London Metropolitan University to be shown an outstanding project under construction by Jake Ireland.
Jake Ireland himself gave the tour of the project and was extremely helpful in revealing the architecture construction process to students. Cheryl Pilliner-Reeves, architect and Senior Lecturer at London Met, also primed the students on how to make the most of the visit.
The project has a variety of low energy specifications, such as air to water heat exchanger to heat the building.
Steven Horner commented after the visit;
"Thank you for arranging the site visits. It was very interesting.
My initial reaction to the visit was that Jake was lovely and really helpful. The building was so far along that we didn't really get to see much of the 'construction/materials' side of things. But it was an excellent site for 'environmental/services' subjects. I was very jealous of the air source heat installation!"
Pilliner-Reeves of London Met added "We would like to give a big thank you to Jake Ireland for making this happen."
whicharchitect looks forward to the opportunity to assist with the knowledge transfer between architectural practice and education again next year.
