Robert Fitzroy Academy by Architype
whicharchitect assisted with arranging a site visit for students from London Metropolitan University to be shown an outstanding project under construction by Architype
Jon Ackroyd the Project Architect gave the tour of the project together with Osborne, the contractor and was extremely helpful in revealing the architecture construction process to students. Cheryl Pilliner-Reeves, architect and Senior Lecturer at London Met, also primed the students on how to make the most of the visit.
The project has a variety of environmental aspects, such as restoration of the Edwardian building and reactivating the original ventilation system.
Syeda Jamilah Khanum commented after the visit;
"I personally found it a really useful experience and I'd like to thank the team for not only telling us useful information about the project in terms of the construction process and BREAAM and the considerations they had to make throughout the process and how that informed the design/structure of the building, but also to thank them for ensuring our safety on the site and making the tour enjoyable and easy to understand."
Pilliner-Reeves of London Met added "We would like to give a big thank you to Architype and Osborne for making this happen."
