Project Profile
Mansell Street

A hugely successful and influential office building on the fringe of the City of London.

Mansell Street was designed as a speculative commercial scheme, comprising 35,000 square feet of office accommodation arranged over seven floors using an exposed reinforced concrete frame.

When first completed, Mansell Street was revolutionary, thanks to our pioneering use of a new glazing system for double-skinned commercial buildings that is commonplace today. It is a testament to the success of the building that it remains in use, despite the rapid turnover of commercial buildings in and around the City of London. Its cool, modernist architectural language has ensured that it remains timeless and as fresh as when first built over twenty years ago.

“A technological coup de theatre.”
Catherine Slessor, Architectural Review

“Like a draught of pure water.”
Pevsner, The Buildings of England
